How Santa Continues to ‘Sleigh’ At Christmas

Last Christmas (I gave you my heart…..oh ok, it’s too early for karaoke). Let’s start again…

Last Christmas, we revealed the competencies behind Santa’s success. But as we approach another festive period, we’ve been wondering - has Santa kept his competencies up to date to tackle the ever changing demands of a modern Christmas?

Gone are the days of handwritten letters to Santa, asking for simple toys to be delivered via the traditional Chimney.

Now we have children emailing and probably even Tik-Tok-ing Santa from chimney-less homes to ask for AI powered robots. The attributes that the Main Man and his elves need have changed at quite a pace!

Let’s take a look:

Mastering High-Tech Home Entry Systems

In today's tech-savvy world, homes are equipped with high-tech entry and security systems. For Santa, sneaking in through chimneys was once the norm. Now, he's having adapted his techniques to navigate the world of video doorbells and fingerprint entry. With a sprinkle of magic and an understanding of modern security, Santa continues to make his way in unseen—whether it's through keyless entries or security cameras.

Santa's Environmental Credentials

Santa is not just a gift-giver; he's also conscious of his environmental impact. For someone that clocks up 75million miles in just one night, his mode of transport has come under more scrutiny than Taylor Swift’s.

His sleigh now runs on eco-friendly, magic-infused power and Santa and his team have embraced sustainable practices, ensuring that their operations at the North Pole are environmentally friendly. From using recycled wrapping paper to encouraging the reuse of gift materials, Santa's workshop champions eco-conscious practices and he wants everyone to know about it!

Modern Communication Channels with Children

Gone are the days of sending letters through the post; children now communicate with Santa through various digital channels. Emails, social media, and even video calls allow kids to share their wish lists and heartfelt messages directly with the man in red. Santa has had to adapt accordingly, responding to emails and messages to stay connected with children worldwide. For a once technical luddite, Santa and Mrs Claus have focused on this particular skill over the past few years and he now knows his way around a Tik-Tok trend, Instagram live and even the odd exchange on Threads.

Evolution of Gifts from the Elves' Workshop

In Santa's workshop, the elves are not just making traditional toys anymore. They've evolved with the times, crafting gifts that align with modern interests. From dolls, prams, toy soldiers and matchbox cars of the past, Santa and the Elves have been attending night school to learn how to craft powerful drones, interactive pets and intelligent robots to cater to a wide range of preferences, ensuring that every child receives a gift that sparks joy and curiosity.

If Santa had failed to adapt to any of these changes, he would risk being consigned to the past. A family-favourite tradition spoken fondly about but irrelevant in the modern world. However, by ensuring that his competencies are updated to suit the challenges of the world in which he operates, he has made sure that the enchanting message of Christmas continues to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
